Welcome by Councillor Errol Thompson, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council
As Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I am delighted to introduce the programme for the 6th annual Festival Lough Erne. Festival Lough Erne celebrates all that’s great about Fermanagh, showcasing the tremendous natural resource of our lakelands and waterways and the abundance of local produce, heritage and culture in our area.
I am delighted that the festival is back for 2021, following last year’s enforced hiatus as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic. This year’s festival structure has changed to reflect the impacts of the global pandemic and will see activities take place right across the Fermanagh Lakelands from Sunday 12 to Sunday 19 September.
The programme includes so many events which have proved popular over the years as well as a host of new activities, both water and land-based, including wellbeing events, lough shore walks, webinar talks, heritage events and food and beverage experiences. There truly is something for everyone.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to working in partnership with other key stakeholders to deliver initiatives which can maximise the potential of our district, making the district a wonderful place to work, live and visit. Festival Lough Erne is one such initiative and I am confident it will once again prove to be a tremendous success.
Enjoy the programme and enjoy the wonderful Fermanagh Lakelands.
